Robert grew up in Jacksonville and attended University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida majoring in accounting. In 1977, he began his accounting career with Deloitte LLP (formerly Deloitte Haskins & Sells) as an auditor in Miami and Tampa, Florida. In 1982, he began his own CPA practice in Tampa. In 1985, he and his wife, Alice, along with their children, Kyle and Carly, moved to Alaska. Once again, he opened another public accounting practice in Homer serving individuals and small to medium size businesses with accounting, auditing and tax services. In 1987 he served as a grader of the Uniform CPA exam in New York. In 1988, he became a qualified peer reviewer under the AICPA Peer Review Program. For 27 years, he was the only CPA residing in Alaska that was qualified to perform peer reviews of other CPA firms. In 1995, Robert and his family moved to Palmer, Alaska maintaining offices in both Palmer and Homer serving clients throughout the entire state of Alaska. In 1997, Robert added financial advisory services to his practice as a licensed securities representative for the brokerage firm H.D. Vest Financial Services.
In 2004, Robert transitioned much of his practice to his then current associate and retained a select number of investment, tax and audit clients. In the meantime, he was contracted to perform Sarbanes-Oxley compliance services for Alyeska Pipeline Services Company (Alyeska), the operator of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline. In 2005, he accepted a position as Senior General Ledger, Tax, Inventory & Fuel Accountant for Alyeska from which he retired in 2015.
As both Robert and his clientele aged, his interest turned towards Lifestage Financial Planning with an emphasis on retirement solutions for clients planning for retirement years. In 2013, he received training and licensing in life, health, long-term care insurance and annuities including Medicare and Social Security planning.
In 2015, Robert and his wife relocated back to Florida to be near their aged parents. Settling in Vilano Beach, Robert elected to open his office in nearby Ponte Vedra and Nocatee.
